This is helpful so that both parties can look at their calendars together and select a day & time that works best. During this call, we will also do a quick consultation to get to know you and what your goals are for your session.
We will take important information like your name, the best number to reach you on the day of the session, a back up number if possible, an email address to send your preview gallery. So it is important to have this information ready and to have a few minutes to talk.
If you are hearing impaired or absolutely cannot call us during business hours due to work restraints we will help you via-email.
We will also go over your location to shoot, select a time and lastly, to secure your date we will collect a 50% non-refundable retainer that will go towards your final purchase.
We highly recommend scheduling at least 2-3 months out, but please don’t let that stop you from contacting us if you have decided on a spur of the moment session. It never hurts to ask if there is a spot available, sometimes we do have unexpected cancellations that just might be the perfect session spot for you!
Our Pre-Portrait Consultation should set us up for a successful start to our session. We will meet at our agreed upon time and location, do a quick recap of the expectations for the session, and go over any “must have shots”. We will go to various spots that have been pre-scouted for light and aesthetics and go through a variety of poses as well as capture candid moments. Our sessions are geared towards a fun, pressure free, relaxing, and memorable experience. At the end of the session we will collect the remaining 50% balance due so we are able to put your images into the queue. Please note that images will not be placed in the queue for editing until the balance has been paid.
We select only those images that are truly exceptional to bring into post production and deliver as your final product. This means you will not see every single image or pose. We eliminate all of the images that are not flattering, blurry, under or over exposed, eyes closed or that are just not true works of art. Depending on what type of session you had, as they vary, your gallery can yield between 200 - 300+ edited images.
Due to the nature of our work and selection process, we do not provide mini sessions. We only provide full sessions.
The post production process is the most important and time consuming part of any photographer's work and accounts for about 70-80% of the full job. Editing will take 3-4 weeks depending on the season. Our editing is very detailed and because we care about the quality of the work we deliver to you, we will never rush through your work.
Dates can be held for only 24 hours without a retainer. However, if another client calls/emails requesting that date and willing to pay at that time, the date will be given to that client. We are not obligated to anyone to hold dates unless a retainer has been made.
In some cases, we may extend a hold for 48 hours and never more than 72 hours. These extensions would be only for business clients over a weekend or holiday but it is at our discretion if we are willing to extend the hold.
A date can not be “yours” until a retainer has been made. This is why we urge clients to pay the retainer immediately to secure their date. Every day that a date is held without a retainer is a potential loss of income from another client. All retainers to hold dates are non-refundable
